The Old Jones’ Distillery is now heritage listed and is located on the museum grounds.
The museum houses a unique collection of historic items including old tools, oil bottles, art works, news cuttings and local paraphernalia. There is also a retail shop and coffee bar on site.
Guided tours are available for group bookings of 12 or more. Tour includes a walk around of the old distillery, a demo of eucalyptus oil distillation, and a comprehensive talk about the history, industry and uses of eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus Polybractea or blue mallee is a type of eucalypt that is endemic to the Loddon Valley region of Victoria. Blue mallee eucalyptus oil has been produced in this region since the 1800s and is still being produced today. With a cineole (eucalyptol) content of over 90%, blue mallee oil is the highest quality and most sought after eucalyptus oil in the world.
